For over 30 years, Congregation Emek Beracha (once "The Minyan"), has welcomed students, business visitors, and tourists to Silicon Valley.
Our growing, vibrant Orthodox community of over 125 families creates a warm atmosphere and welcoming environment for people from all backgrounds. Guided by Rabbi Yitzchok Feldman, our Shul is committed to approaching the modern world through the perspective of halacha, embracing religious Zionism, and growing in Jewish learning and observance.
The name "Emek Beracha" derives from a verse in Divrei HaYamim (Chronicles), in which the kingdom of Yehuda gathers in a valley of blessing (Emek Beracha), so called because "from there they blessed Hashem."
Announcements

For the Shabbat of Re'eh, 5768, the Eruv is UP. This announcement is usually updated by noon of the next Erev Shabbat. Eruv boundaries are Hwy 101 and Foothill Expressway between Adobe and San Francisquito Creek. For more details, call 650-857-1800. A well-known Shaatnez expert, Rabbi Yosef Sayagh, was in Palo Alto March 9 - 12. He came to train local people to check for Shaatnez so that we will no longer need to send garments elsewhere for this service. While he was here, people were able to have garments checked with relatively little delay. There are now two trained Shaatnez checkers in Palo Alto, Rabbi Avromi Apt and Mrs. Penina Weese. Izzy's Brooklyn Bagles in Palo Alto is now open until 8 pm. Pre-ordering for pizza, lasagna or burritos is preferred, by 5 pm in the afternoon. The number is 650-329-0700. The Barron Park Market at 3878 El Camino Real has begun to stock many Kosher products including Empire chicken and Kosher cheese. There are also other items such as Moma's Bakery Challa & Unger's Gefilte fish.
Izzy's Brooklyn Cafe in Sunnyvale has closed.
The San Francisco -- New York Deli has closed.

Many of us have items in our homes which we would not mind lending to new arrivals or guests in our community but we are prevented from performing this mitzvah because no one knows what we have available. Therefore, we are compiling a list of all items people have available to share and lend out. The items will remain in your homes, but this list will provide people the means to contact the right party without needing to call around. We are asking people to email us with any items that they may have. Items can range from the mundane like a clothes iron to a bike and even a car. Anything and everything that you have available to lend can be placed on the list.
